In defiance of the sweltering heat in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, Spanish dance-rockers Delorean got bodies moving at the final Jelly NYC Pool Party of the summer. But the vibe changed entirely when show organizers began trotting out a veritable who's who of surprise hip-hop acts including rap duo Cool Kids, New Orleans icon Big Feedia, not to mention Darryl "DMC" McDaniels of Run-DMC fame.
Joined onstage by party rocker Andrew WK, the 'King of Rock' blazed through 'It's Tricky,' followed by a crowd-destroying rendition of 'Walk This Way' featuring Les Savy Fav's spirited frontman Tim Harrington.
Just when it seemed like things couldn't get any better, the Human Beat Box himself, Doug E Fresh, serenaded his mom onstage (with Biz Markie's 'He's Just a Friend') before pumping up the crowd for headliner Gucci Mane, who tore through a quick four tracks before dropping the mic ... and everyone's heart rate.
